Mural Projects

The mural project is a school-wide beautification initiative to create a colorful, positive school atmosphere and provide students with an opportunity to leave an artistic legacy. This project allows students to work collaboratively to plan, design, and paint murals in the halls of the school. Students develop teamwork, design, and project management skills in addition to gaining a sense of pride and care for the school environment.

  • Middle School Murals

To honor the late principal of de Burgos, middle schoolers painted a mural that represented their school and neighborhood pride.

  • Legacy Project

8th-grade students worked on a collaborative mural to commemorate their time at de Burgos, celebrate their graduation, and leave an artistic legacy.

  • Springtime Mural

After a bulletin board was torn down last year, the 8th-grade hallway was left with an eye soar that the school’s Climate Dean approached us to fix. Fourth and fifth-grade students designed and painted this spring-inspired mural that includes Julia De Burgos’ school motto.
